INDIAN TEA RECIPE
Here we share our favourite Indian Tea Recipe. No Indian household starts the day without a chai tea – and for good reason in our opinion.
At The Pigment Trail, during our creative holidays to India, we’re known for traveling with sketchbook in one hand, chai in the other. Delicious.
In India you will find a chai walla on every street corner in India! In fact, India is the 2nd larger producer and consumer of tea in the world. If you haven’t got a chai walla at the end of your street (!), then you’ll need a chai Indian tea recipe to turn to as a delectable alternative to English breakfast.
If you’d like a chai walla at the end of your street (!), join our upcoming Creative Holidays to India. Art Holiday and Craft Holiday: October 2021.
Your little warming recipe for Indian tea:
- Boil 1.5 cups of water
- While the water is boiling, pound 2 or 3 small pieces of ginger and add to the water and do the same to the cardamom
- Add 2 teaspoons of chai tea powder. Boil for at least 2 or 3 minutes
- Add 1 cup of milk and 2 spoons of sugar (or as required)
- Bring to the boil, strain with a fine sieve and serve.
Chai o’clock! Your perfect drawing companion. Yum!
And do let us know how you get on: post your creations on Facebook and Instagram so we can all enjoy them, tagging us in: @thepigmenttrail #thepigmenttrail
